For now, the CPCC is focused on catalyzing additional climate philanthropy from the United States. Our initial goal is to triple U.S. climate philanthropy in the next five years.
The geographic focus of the philanthropic organizations within the network is global – so the philanthropic funds will flow to climate-related initiatives all over the world.
No. Collectively, Our members (and the clients/partners they work with) cover the full range of climate solutions and strategies.
As an organization, the CPCC does not intend to “pick favorites” among climate solutions, though our individual members may.
Through our resource database, newsletter (forthcoming), and member gatherings we will share insights about a wide range of climate philanthropy approaches, solutions, and challenges.
At present, the CPCC does not make grants or direct connections to funders.
There are three types of organizations that can join: foundations, philanthropic advisory firms, and philanthropy networks (or support organizations). Across all these groups, we are seeking organizations that intentionally focus on promoting U.S. climate philanthropy in some capacity.
Unfortunately, that means we are not presently seeking membership from climate-related NGOs, university development offices, or entities focused on promoting climate investment (as opposed to philanthropy). However, we encourage everyone to use the publicly available resources on our website (lots more coming by the end of April!).
Also, we are happy to partner on events, research or other initiatives with a broad range of organizations who share our goal to scale climate action.
